Overview

CFE (Comprobante Fiscal Electrónico) is Uruguay's mandatory electronic tax receipt system, managed by the DGI (Dirección General Impositiva). Mandatory since 2012 for large taxpayers and progressively expanded, CFE covers multiple document types: e-Factura (invoice), e-Ticket (receipt), e-Factura de Exportación (export invoice), e-Remito (delivery note), and others. All CFE documents must be digitally signed and submitted to DGI for authorization.
